Fallacies Ep. 2 Straw Man

Scholars Scott Aikin and John Casey put it like this: ‘The straw man fallacy consists in inappropriately constructing or selecting weak (or comparatively weaker) versions of the opposition’s arguments.’

Straw Man – You twist what your opponent actually said.

Weak Man – You cherry‑pick their worst argument and act like it’s their whole case.Academia

Hollow Man – You flat‑out invent an argument nobody made, then stomp it.
