Once labeled a career criminal, now Stanley Andrisse holds a Ph.D. and an MBA, and has taught at universities like Howard University, Johns Hopkins, Georgetown, and Imperial College London. He is the author of a best-selling book From Prison Cell to Ph.D. and is the founder of an organization of the same name, and a member of several organizations working on criminal and social justice issues for currently and formerly incarcerated people. We sat down to talk about his work, his perspective on prison education, and his family.
